Background
Dr. George Marinakis received a B.A. in mathematics (Dean’s Scholar) from San Jose State University, and a Ph.D. in the biological sciences and a J.D. (Dean’s List, Honor Roll) from the University of New Mexico.
He worked for Lockheed Missiles and Space Company from 1984-1988 and 1996-1997 in Sunnyvale and Colorado Springs as an aerospace operations engineer, training Space Shuttle astronauts in payload operations and operating military communications satellites. He also worked with Fidelity Investments from 1998-1999 as a quantitative analyst, in part managing software used to control $84b in assets. He started his own law practice in 2000 and has consulted to Franklin & Associates International since 2010. For FAI Patents, Dr Marinakis limits his practice to patent practitioner representation before the United States Patent & Trade Mark Office.
Dr. Marinakis has been a member of the New Mexico (active) and Massachusetts (inactive) State Bars since 2000. He has been a registered patent attorney since 2003. He has written numerous patent applications relating to renewable energy, and is a founder and editor of the online Journal of Sustainability. He is currently working on an M.B.A. at the University of New Mexico with a concentration in the Management of Technology.
